JODIE AND JAMES
‘I LOVED YOU. WE ALL LOVED YOU’ – THE BRIDE
Jodie and James got married last December at the awesome Barton Hall, which is a stunning venue in Northamptonshire. It was my first time there, but what a fantastic wedding to finish off 2019 with! It was such a happy day and even the weather played ball – not a drop of rain in sight. Jodie and James are a wonderfully laid back couple who are made for each other, so please enjoy some highlights from their day!
GETTING READY
Jodie got ready on-site with her Mum and children, and the atmosphere was so relaxed. I always love small-knit groups in the morning as It’s easy to get involved and get to know everyone before the day (aka – more natural photo results!). James got ready off-site with his best man. The boys travelled to the ceremony via car, arriving in the carpark (where Jodie could have a nose from the bridal suite before seeing him a few hours later walking down the aisle!)
THE CEREMONY
The ceremony was over in a flash (EXACTLY how Jodie requested it to be!) in the orangery. Barton Halls Orangery is absolutely amazing and a setting I will definitely be recommending to future couples. The lighting is perfect for photos, but it’s also an amazing setting for the drinks reception too. When Jodie and James were announced as husband and wife, it wasn’t followed by a traditional kiss. Instead, they put their arms in the air and laughed while everyone cheered! I loved it.
DRINKS RECEPTION & EVENING
The drinks reception was also in the orangery with drinks and chocolates! A word to sum up this wedding would simply be happy, everyone was smiling and laughing from start to finish. I love it when guests are expressive like this gallery as it makes for some hilarious drinks reception shots. That adding to the beautiful styling in both rooms (enter neon lights, cute ceremony name tags and every guest having their favourite drink ready with their name tags) made this day a pleasure to photograph! Thanks to Barton Hall and to Jodie and James for having me there to capture such a fun wedding.
Here’s what they had to say about me photographing their day:
‘Sophie. What Can I say? I love you. We all loved you. Sophie isn’t just a photographer, she was like an added member of the family on the day. Nothing was too much trouble from helping me into my dress to removing boob tape! At the end of the day, you can pay for flowers or table decor which yes, look lovely, but you will never use or see them again! The only thing you have left after a wedding is your photos. I think Sophie needs to be charging more – she’s worth every single penny. I can honestly say for the first time in my life I’ve looked at the wedding pictures and thought wow, I don’t look fat or ugly – just happy! For that Sophie, I am forever grateful.‘
Looking for a Barton Hall Wedding Photographer for your upcoming wedding? I’m due back there in July this year and April 2021, but I’d love to be there even more! If you think I may be the photographer for you, whether at this venue or another in Northamptonshire, just message me your wedding date!
